Redmond, King County
Air duct cleaning in Redmond is priced from $525. How many registers you have, how far the trunks run and how reachable the furnace is decide the final figure, and an ordinary detached house usually comes out well above the minimum. We give you the number in writing once we have counted vents and seen the equipment.

Start with whether you have ducts at all. In the Census estimates, 59.2% of Redmond's occupied homes heat mainly with electricity and 38.3% with utility gas. The Census records fuel, not delivery: an electrically heated home may rely on baseboards or a ductless heat pump and have no ducts at all, while a gas furnace distributes its heat through them. If warm air comes out of floor or ceiling registers, this service applies to you.
Redmond's Census profile shows two older layers of housing: 23.4% of units from 1960 to 1979, then 33.7% from the 1980s and 1990s. The first layer follows three annexations in five years: Overlake (1962), then Viewpoint (1964), then Bear Creek (1966).
Ducts in those houses are as old as the houses unless someone replaced them, and they have collected dust through every furnace the home has had. They are also the houses where a fireplace insert may have been added, which matters to us for a practical reason: soot from a poorly sealed insert or fireplace ends up in the return air. When we see black dust in a return duct, we ask about the fireplace.
Every air duct cleaning we do in Redmond includes:
Smoke coming back into the room, or a smell that won't go? Book the inspection first.
Book nowA closed-up house is the local issue. Redmond's cool season in WeatherSpark's model runs from November 13 to March 1, and the Western Regional Climate Center measures January humidity in western Washington's interior valleys at 78 to 87 percent. Windows stay shut and the same air circulates for months. In late summer the reverse problem appears: King County's public health department warns that wildfire smoke can degrade air quality for days or even weeks, and for those episodes the regional clean air agency's advice is a HEPA purifier, or a box fan carrying a filter rated MERV-13. What the filter misses settles in the ducts.
Ductwork hangs from straps in crawl spaces and attics, and its sections are joined by friction and tape. In a city that its own hazard annex places on a liquefaction zone, with a Cascadia Subduction Zone event among the scenarios, those joints are worth a look whenever the system is opened.
Washington DNR puts the 50-year odds of a magnitude 9 Cascadia megathrust earthquake at 15%. Smaller shaking is enough to drop a duct off its boot or to loosen the metal flue of a gas furnace. During a cleaning our camera travels the trunks anyway, so separated sections and a disturbed furnace vent connector are things we report.
Registers are counted, the furnace or air handler is opened, and a camera shows the state of the trunks.
Floors are covered along the work path, and registers in rooms not yet cleaned are sealed so dust stays put.
A collector is connected at the trunk, pulling air and debris one way, toward the machine.
Air tools and soft brushes loosen dust in every run, register by register, and the suction carries it off.
Access openings are sealed, registers go back, the system is run, and you receive the photos.

Redmond adopted the 2021 International Mechanical Code effective March 15, 2024, the date the state's 2021 codes came into force. That code governs new and replaced equipment. Our service changes none: the ducts and the furnace stay as they are.
If the cleaning reveals crushed or disconnected ducts that need replacing, or you decide to change the furnace, that work belongs on a mechanical permit, filed with the city through REPS. Outside the city limits, King County's residential mechanical permit is what covers a furnace that is put in, swapped or moved, with applications through MyBuildingPermit.com.
Redmond is a city of a little over 17 square miles around the northern tip of Lake Sammamish, on the Sammamish River, with homes with a median build year of 1993, close to a quarter of them built in the 1960s and 1970s. We work every part of it — Education Hill, Grass Lawn, Idylwood, North Redmond, Overlake included.

Four steps, each one on paper — so you always know what happens next.
Choose a genuine opening on the crew's calendar. Confirmation is immediate.
Liner, crown, cap, flashing and masonry examined in order — each finding photographed.
One document, plain numbers, covering only the work your chimney genuinely needs.
The repair is completed, then handed over with before-and-after photos of every item.
The minimum is $525. A standard single-family house generally falls higher than that, depending on vent count and layout, and we write the figure down before starting.
Only if the heat is delivered through ducts. Baseboard, wall heaters and ductless heat pumps have none. A heat pump with an air handler does.
It is a reasonable time. Summer 2026 brought a statewide wildfire emergency, declared on August 1, and a burn ban through September 30. After a smoky spell, a filter change is the minimum and a duct cleaning deals with what got past the filter.
No. That $99 plus tax visit is our chimney evaluation. Duct cleaning is quoted from the register count.
